MHRI-GHUCCTS Monthly Statistical Seminar Series: Time-to-Event Models

Date Fri, Nov 17
Time 12: 00 PM - 1: 00 PM
Location Zoom

This month's MHRI-GHUCCTS Monthly Statistical Seminar Series will be held Friday, November 17, 2023, from 12 PM - 1 PM. This series features Dr. Paul Kolm, Associate Director in the Center for Biostatistics, Informatics, & Data Science (CBIDS) at MedStar Health Research Institute.

The topic of this month's seminar will be on Time-to-Event analyses have two outcomes: a dichotomous event (yes/no; dead/alive, etc.) as in binary logistic regression and the time to the event. We will look at standard models where the exact time to the event is known as well as models where the exact time is not known but occurs within some known interval of time. In medical research, these are known as survival analyses; in industry, they are known as failure time analyses.
