MHRI-GHUCCTS Monthly Statistical Seminar Series: Analysis of Non-randomized Comparative Effectiveness Studies

Date Fri, Mar 15
Time 12: 00 PM - 1: 00 PM
Location Zoom

This month's MHRI-GHUCCTS Monthly Statistical Seminar Series will be held Friday, March 15, 2024, from 12 PM - 1 PM. This series features Dr. Paul Kolm, Associate Director in the Center for Biostatistics, Informatics, & Data Science (CBIDS) at MedStar Health Research Institute.

The topic of this month's seminar will be Analysis of Non-randomized Comparative Effectiveness Studies. Analyses of studies comparing treatments, therapies, etc. where subjects are not randomized to treatment groups have to account for the problem of selection bias. In this session, we will look at the use of propensity scores to create pseudo-randomized studies. In addition, we will compare results with simple covariate adjustment.
